Vuzix iWear®  Questions and Answers.

1. Are these screens bad for the eyes? No. The apparent viewing distance of these screens is approximately 9 feet (2.5m). There is no squinting or strain on the eyes. However the recommendation is that users should be older then 7 years.
2. I wear glasses/ my prescription is different for both eyes - can I use Vuzix products? Yes. The AV230XL and AV310 Widescreen glasses have an individual dioptre adjustment from approximately +2 to -5 for each eye. Although the glasses will fit over most spectacles, most people can dispense with their glasses and use this to bring the screens into focus. Users of the AV920 and VR920 do not have individual eye focus.
3. What games are compatible with the iWear VR920? The correct answer is, "Virtually any game or other application on a 32-bit Windows XP or Vista computer that is capable of running at a resolution of 1024x768, 800x600 or 640x480." Typically, what people really mean is, "Which games provide 3D video with the VR920?" or "Which games support head-tracking?" The linked chart attempts to answer these two common questions and identify the level of support for each of these iWear VR920 features.
4. These prices seem very reasonable for such a high-technology product. Why is this? Simple. This technology has been around in the military for a decade but has now been declassified. So the Vuzix guys have many years experience in production as well as in R&D. 
5. Are the screens HD? Not in the current range. This technology will come. But a simple demonstration of one of these very high resolution  devices will show their high performance with breathtaking clarity.
6. All the Vuzix models seem to be corded. Is there a wireless option? Again, this is a little further down the line. Currently streaming such video content has requirements which exceed the capability of the bandwidth used by Bluetooth. Additionally, battery life would be dramatically shortened by making the headsets wireless. But rest assured that Vuzix are hard at work on this and other dramatic enhancements!
7. How long will this product remain current? Will they become obsolete when new models are launched or can they be updated? Relax. Vuzix are frequently releasing updates for the software keeping your headset current.
