Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer 2i WiFi Pro Pack - Are you someone just starting out on your DSLR astrophotography journey and want to progress from simple fixed-camera-on-a-tripod short exposure photography to tracked longer exposure imaging for capturing fainter objects? Do you already have an existing telescope setup but want something more "grab-and-go portable" and quicker to set up for those occasions when time is short? Are you going away on holiday and want something compact and portable to take with you to do some astroimaging? SkyWatcher's (easy to use and set up) Star Adventurer 2i WiFi portable astrophotography platform could be ideal for you.
The Star Adventurer is a small and very compact motorised mount (approx. 18cm x 10cm x 11cm) that on its own just weighs ~1kg but can accommodate an imaging payload of ~5kg making it ideal to use with a DSLR and a range of lenses. Now in its 2nd version, it incorporates WiFi so that a range of mount and camera functions can be controlled via a free app for Android and iOS mobile devices. When mounted on the Star Adventurer equatorial wedge, the unit becomes a small German equatorial mount and long unguided exposures are possible and the unit even has an autoguider port for even longer guided imaging too (with optional guidecamera+scope). The mount can track if you are in either the northern or southern hemipheres and features a range of different tracking speed and timelapse functions. The unit is powered from 4xAA internal (user supplied) batteries and with its low power usage the batteries can last a long time.
The most popular version is the Star Adventurer 2i WiFi Pro package. This includes the mount itself (which also includes the ball head adaptor and illuminated polarscope) along with the equatorial wedge, dovetail L-Bracket, counterweight shaft and comes with a 1kg counterweight. You just need to add a photo tripod and your DSLR and you are ready to go.
The exciting new Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer 2i adds now adds WiFi functionality to the immensely popular Star Adventurer astro-imaging platform, whilst retaining all the important original features. The WiFi features are operated via the free Star Adventurer Mini Console App for Android and iOS platforms.
Provides various combinations to satisfy all you needs for astrophotography and time-lapse photography. It is a high precision, portable and stable celestial tracking platform for sidereal, solar and lunar tracking with automatic DSLR shutter release control. Moreover, it contains pre-programmed parameters assisting you to create interesting time-lapse videos with your DSLR.
Star Adventurer 2i Pro Pack: includes the Star Adventurer 2i WiFi Mount, Ball Head Adaptor, Illuminated Polar Scope, Dovetail L-Bracket, Equatorial Wedge and Counterweight Shaft with 1kg Counterweight. Sky-Watcher shutter release cables can be purchased separately for most popular camera models/brands.
The Star Adventurer 2i can attach to any standard tripod via its ¼” or 3/8” adaptors. The latitude can be set by either adjusting the tilt of your tripod head to match your latitude or more accurately with the included Equatorial Wedge. To fit a camera to the Star Adventurer 2i, either a tripod Ball Head can be fitted (not supplied) or to the supplied Dovetail L-Bracket. The Dovetail L-Bracket used in conjunction with the supplied counterweight shaft/counterweight also allows small telescopes (e.g. Skymax-90), with a ¼-20 tripod fitting, to be used with the Star Adventurer 2i. By dispensing with the counterweight shaft, a small telescope and camera (using a ball head, not supplied) can be mounted simultaneously on the Dovetail L-bracket. Using just the dovetail bar from the Dovetail L-Bracket, two cameras can be mounted at the same time using two tripod ball heads (not supplied).
